Preacher and Disciple | Moral stories for kids
Once upon a time there was a preacher in a village. He was earning some money by doing poojas and prayers. He had a lot of money. He put all that money in a bag and kept it with him.
A thief in that village had been plotting to steal money from this preacher for a long time. One day the thief went to the preacher and asked, “Sir, can I join along with you as your disciple?”. The preacher immediately accepted his request.
The thief pretended to be very good and innocent man, who knew nothing and wanted to take a good place in the preacher’s mind. One day another disciple called the preacher saying that there was a pooja in the next village. The preacher took the thief along with him and went to the pooja.
They saw a river on their way. Then the preacher said to the thief, “Son, I am going to bath in this river. So keep my goods and money safe with you”. The preacher handed everything to the thief disciple and went to take bath in the river.
The thief, who was waiting for such a time, took all the goods and money that the preacher had given him and ran away. When the preacher bathed and came back he saw the disciple nowhere to be found.
Only then he realised that the disciple had taken the money with him and ran away. It was then that the preacher learned one thing, “Never believe anyone blindly.”
