Grasshopper and Ant | Inspiring Short Stories on Positive Attitude
A dense forest was inhabited by grasshoppers and ants. These ants are always active. They were gathering and storing food together for their future.
Then one day the grasshopper asked the ants, “Why are you all always working so hard to gather food?”. One of the ants said, “If we collect food now, we will be able to eat food without starving when winter comes.”
The grasshopper smiled and said, “Look how happy I am dancing and singing. We shouldn’t get worried about the future but have to live happily in the present.” I follow it and enjoy my day.
I have eaten food today and now I am going to dance and sing happily, said the grasshopper. A few days passed and winter came.
Then all those ants were eating the food they had gathered during the summer. But this grasshopper got no food to eat. This grasshopper roamed here and there hungry and in search of food.
But there was no food anywhere. Finally, the grasshopper came looking for the ants. The grasshopper asked, “I am very hungry. I want food and a place to stay.”
Then the ant asked, “you said that you will never be sad about the future, did you see now, if you have collected food and a place to stay during the summer season, do you have to suffer like this?”
Only then did the grasshopper realise its mistake and then the ant gave the grasshopper food to eat and a place to stay. The grasshopper also decided to collect food for the coming days.
