Donkey and dog | bedtime stories for dogs
There was a farmer in a village. He had a donkey and a dog. The donkey helped the farmer by carrying his bundles. The dog was guarding the house.
One night after the farmer slept, a thief slowly entered the farmer’s house. Seeing this, the dog remained silent without doing anything. The donkey asked the dog, “Friend, the thief is going in, why are you quiet, make noise.” But the dog remained calm.
The donkey asked, “Tell me why you are so quiet.” The dog said, “This farmer doesn’t take care of me properly these days, he doesn’t even feed me properly, so why should I help him? I’m not going to bark now.”
Hearing this, the donkey said to the dog, “My friend, you are right, but we must be loyal to our master.” But the dog was silent. It did not listen to the talk of the donkey.
This donkey started screaming at the top of her voice, thinking that she should somehow help the boss. Hearing the voice of the donkey, the thief ran away. The boss also got up after hearing the sound of the donkey, but there was no one there.
The farmer took a big stick in his hand and said to the donkey, “Why did you disturb my sleep?”. He asked and beat the donkey hard. The donkey was crying in pain.
Moral: It is better to keep calm and mind our own work.
