The Theif | Thief Stories
Lakshmipuram, as the name implies, was a city of ‘wealth’.
In front of every bungalow on South Street in the town of Ten Streets, a variety of cars and two-wheelers line up to beautify the place. To that extent, most of the young people on that street excelled in jobs in foreign states and abroad (in professions).
It was customary for parents to go to see their children working outside and for children to come to see their parents.
More recently, items from the bungalow from which they go abroad have been looted. The police made a serious effort to catch the robbers.
Theft was so modern that it challenged the police. Often there was power outage at over two o’clock at night. It will take at least a quarter of an hour for the power to come back on.
It was at that time the robbery happens, the police became aware of the nuances of the theft, and the police decided to end the crime.
Two policemen were hiding to find the theif. When the power was cut off one of the policeman started chasing the theif and the other police turned on the transformer.
The electric lights on South Street were bright. It came as a shock to those who were stealing things on the bungalow on the south street
The thieves decided to escape from the bungalow and suddenly the whistle sound created by police, woke up everyone on the street to see if there was any way to stop the thieves escaping.
The funny thing is .. the street people looked on amazement, when they learned that the leader of the robbery gang was Selvam, member from that street.
He lost his father at an early age and grew up in his mother’s upbringing. Lacking opportunities, he stole small items to meet his needs, and in the course of the day he wanted to fulfill his mother’s desires and by stealing he had all the facilities such as house, transport, good bed to sleep, the food she wanted.
His robbery betrayed the position that a thief would one day be caught. Selvam, and his five friends involved in robbery, was brought at street in front of everyone.
Seeing this, Selvan’s mother shouted, punching herself in stomach and mouth for Selvam’s situation.
Asking Selvam, “Did I brought you up to see in this situation”.
“You are the one who brought me in this situation”, said Selvam, she was shocked and Selvam said, “Yes! When I stole from children and teachers in schools and gave it to you, you encouraged me without telling me that it was a mistake. You wanted to live in luxury and so you didn’t punish me for my mistakes. It’s you who brought me up to this level of robbery”, said Selvam and asked her to leave the way. Selvam was sent to prison.
It is the duty of the parents to instruct their children to go on the right way.
