Cat short story | Who will tie the bell for the cat?
Once upon a time there were a lot of rats living in a grocery store. They ate everything in the grocery store and made a big problem for the owner of the shop. This made the shopkeeper very angry.
So he brought a cat to suppress the problem with those rats. The cat ate a lot of rats on the day it arrived. The rest of the rats were hiding and were afraid of this cat.
Because of this cat the rats didn’t get anything to eat. They were in fear and suffered a lot without food. The rats formed a group and they started to discuss what to do with the cat.
The leader of the rat group said that, “we have to find a way or else we will starve to death”. One among the rats said that, “If we can hear the noise of the cat coming we escape from it and search for food”.
“Yes but how can we hear the noise?” asked the other rat. At that time a small rat said, “let us tie a bell on the cat’s neck, so that we can hear the noise of the cat arriving and it will help us to escape”.
Everyone was happy by the rat’s idea and they all appreciated his idea. At that time an old rat asked, “Okay that’s a good idea but who will tie the bell on the cat’s neck”.
All the rat’s were silent and no one had the courage to tie the bell on the cat’s neck. They felt upset and returned back to there place.
